I wrote this poem somewhat inadvertantly at the BeOS developers conference in Santa Clara today:

by showing
the window
you make it
h'appear

it calls you
man in a room, waiting
for the phone to ring,
ready for almost
anything

it's the lazy protocol
direct connect is
never calling you
you're just here
yes, it's a lazy protocol
